Girls fare well in SSC exam results
Lakki Marwat: The female students outshined boys by securing overall top three positions in the matriculation examination of the Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education, Bannu. The female students of the Panel High School, Bannu, got top three positions, with Arooma Khan standing first by securing 961 marks, while Zara Mehmood and Fareha Muhit secured second and third positions by obtaining 953 and 952 marks, respectively. The three position holders belong to the science group.

In humanities group, a private female student of North Waziristan Agency grabbed first position. She secured 833 marks. She hails from a remote Khaddi (Eedak) village of Mir Ali tehsil. Asma Bibi and Sumera Obaidullah, students of Government Girls High School No 1, Lakki Marwat, clinched second and third positions, by securing 820 and 817 marks, respectively.

MARDAN: Sana Qayum of the Peace School, Nowshera, and Sajad Ali of the Quad-i-Azam Public School and College, Zaida, Swabi, jointly secured overall first position by obtaining 969 marks each out of total 1,050 marks in the annual secondary school certificate examinations of the Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education, Mardan.

Adnan Ahmad of the Quad International Model School, Chota Lahor, Swabi, clinched second position by obtaining 967 marks while Qazi Inzimam-ul-Haq of the Peace School, Nowshera, stood third by gaining 962 marks. All the top four position holders belonged to the science group. KOHAT: The students of Cadet College Kohat clinched top three positions in the science group in the matriculation examination of the Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education, Kohat, keeping the tradition of the institute intact. Cadet Naseem Anjum stood first by securing 975 marks out of 1100 marks. Similarly, Aftab Ahmed and Yousuf Tahir grabbed second and third positions by getting 963 and 956 marks, respectively.

Among female students of Iqra Public School and College, Kohat, Nimra Aziz and Bushra Ahmed secured 950 marks each and stood first in the science group. In the arts group, Mohammad Usman Saeed stood first by getting 858 marks. Salma Khan of Kurram Agency remained on the top of the list in the arts group among the female candidates despite extremely insecure situation in the tribal area.

The Matric SSC Annual 2012 examination has been announced on June 11, 2012. According to the ooficial notification, in 9th Class (SSC Part one ) about 21,159 students, including boys and girls, in the Science and arts Group had appeared in the examination and 14,447 were declared successful with a pass percentage of 68.01 while on the other hand in10th Class (SSC Part two ) around 19,610 students, including both boys and girls, in the Science and arts Group had appeared in the examination and 16,296 were declared successful with a pass percentage of 75.
