  1. List 01: Arranged According to Roll Numbers

  2. List 2: Arranged Alphabetically According to Names of Candidates

ADMISSION PROCEDURE

9. MERIT LIST FORMULA

§         Weightage of marks

                        - Matric / ‘O’ Level / Equivalent Examination  -----10 %

                        - Intermediate/‘A’ Level/Equivalent Examination -40 %

                        - Entrance Test --------------------------------------------50 %

§     Deduction of ten marks for every extra attempt, if the candidate has appeared in   the Interscience premedical examination/ ‘A’ Level / Equivalent exam to improve his/her division or grades.

§  THE MERIT CALCULATION for INTERMEDIATE (pre-medical) candidates will be based ONLY ON THREE SCIENCE SUBJECTS (biology, physics and chemistry). FORTY PERCENT OF THE TOTAL MARKS OBTAINED in biology, physics and chemistry, WILL BE CONSIDERED FOR FINAL MERIT CALCULATION.

  • Similarly THE MERIT CALCULATION of     ‘A LEVEL/ EQUIVALENT’, CANDIDATES will be based ONLY ON THREE SCIENCE SUBJECTS (biology, physics and chemistry). FORTY PERCENT OF THE TOTAL MARKS OBTAINED in biology, physics and chemistry, calculated according to the IBCC FORMULA given below WILL BE CONSIDERED FOR FINAL MERIT CALCULATION, as follows:

        A Grade ---------85/100

        B Grade -------- 75/100

        C Grade -------- 65/100

        D Grade -------- 55/100

        E Grade -------- 45/100

Example of formula applied for merit calculation of candidates with A Level / Equivalent Exam.

If a candidate has:

            Biology ------ A Grade ----85/100

           Physics ------- A Grade --- 85/100

           Chemistry ---- B Grade --- 75/100

                                    Total         245/300

Since the intermediate pre-medical examination has 200 marks in each science subject (Biology, Physics and Chemistry) making a maximum total of 600 marks, therefore the acquired and maximum marks of ‘A’ Level candidates will be multiplied by two.

          245 x 2 / 300 x 2

              =   490 / 600

Now 40% of 490 marks will be considered for weightage in the total marks for final merit list of an ‘A Level” candidate to be at par with Inter Science (Pre-medical) Candidate.

§  IBCC EQUIVALENCE CERTIFICATE for     ‘A LEVEL / EQUIVALENT Candidates’ WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED For MERIT CALCULATION as it also includes subjects other than biology, physics and chemistry. (this is to make the ‘A LEVEL/EQUIVALENT candidates at par with the  ‘INTERMEDIATE SCIENCE’ candidates).

§      In case the overall score of two or more candidates are equal the candidate securing higher marks in the Intermediate/ ‘A Level’ examination will be ranked higher in the merit for the purpose of admission.

§      If the Intermediate/ ‘A Level’ marks are also equal, the candidate having higher marks in the matric/ ‘O Level’ exam will be ranked higher in the merit for the purpose of admission

§     If the matric/ ‘O Level’ marks of two or more candidates are also equal then the candidate older in age will be ranked higher in the merit for the purpose of admission.

§   Additional marks for Hafiz-e-Quran :

20 (Twenty) extra marks for merit calculation were given previously, when maximum 1100 marks of allsubjects were considered; for merit calculation ratio being 1.8. Now since only science subjects (Biology, Physics and Chemistry) with maximum marks of 600 are being considered, for all candidates, same ratio will be applicable and therefore eleven (11) MARKS will be added in the total of intermediate / A Level marks of Hafiz-e-Quran candidate, for final merit calculation.

§         The selection board will interview the candidates to ensure that he /she is a genuine Hafiz-e-Quran. The decision of the selection board will be final.
