Admission Process

MIHS is an equal opportunity organization. There is no discrimination on the basis of sex, religion, race, colour, creed or domicile. Anyone who is academically qualified for admission to the courses of study offered by the institute is encouraged to apply. There are no quotas and no reserved seats.

The selection of students is meticulously done by the admission committee and approved by the Board of Directors.

Eligibility For Admission (BDS Course)

A person holding an F.Sc. (Pre-medical) with minimum unadjusted 65% marks from Pakistan or an equivalent qualification from any other university/school is eligible for admission. (Candidates have to qualify entry test of university of Health Science for getting information in Margalla College of Dentistry)

OR

B.Sc. examination of a Pakistan University with Biological Sciences provided he/she has passed the Intermediate Science Examination in medical group. Only those students are eligible to apply who have passed in first division.

OR

Any examination of a foreign university, which in scope and standard is found equivalent to the intermediate Pre-medical examination of Pakistan will make the candidate eligible for admission in the Institute. It is, however, the responsiblility of candidates to clear their cases through the Chairman, Inter-Board Committee, Islamabad or for recognition of their qualification. The recognition certificate must be attached with the application form.

Eligibility For Admission (Physiotherapy) :

50% unadjusted marks in physiotherapy

Eligibility For Admission (Paramedical Technology ) :

F.Sc 50% Minimum

Matric With Science 50 % Minimum

Note (Paramedical Technology ) :

Age limit 15-23 years, relaxable in special cases

    • Science Graduates will be given preference.

    • Hafiz Quran will get 10 honorary marks

    • Player of board level will get 10 honorary marks

    • Accommodation facility also available

    • Punjab paramedical institute rules and regulation will be followed

Entry Test

All candidates of BDS have to appear in the entry test. This test will be of objective type having 100 marks. Following subjects will be included:

  1. Physics

  2. Chemistry

  3. Biology

Ten (10) marks will be deducted for every extra chance of FSc examination availed or not availed including supplementary or equivalent examination beyond the period of two academic years after passing Secondary School examination.

Age specified in matriculation certificate will be considered as the correct age.

Age Limit (Physiotherapy)
No age limit however 10 marks are deducted for each additional attempt after 2 years of metric or SSC examination plus 10 marks for each year after 2 years of regular HSSC examinations.

Criteria for BDS

Merit will be assessed on the following criteria laid down by the Pakistan Medical and Dental Council (PMDC).

    • F.Sc. Marks = 70%
    • Entry test marks = 30%

Criteria (Physiotherapy)

    • F.Sc. Marks = 50%
Interview

The students finally selected will be interviewed for personality and aptitude for the medical education.

If the quantum of marks of a candidate is given by an examining Authority, the same will be taken into consideration for working out the merit.

  1. For the purpose of working of merit, the subjects of Physics, Chemistry and Biology at the intermediate level will be taken into account.

Documents Required with Application :

The candidates who are eligible to apply for admission must submit six (6) sets of attested copies of the following documents along with the application form.

  1. Matric / Senior Cambridge or equivalent certificate

  2. FSc. (Pre-medical) or equivalent certificate

  3. Detailed mark sheet (FSc. Pre-medical)

  4. In case of foreign qualified candidates, recognition certificate from the Chairman Inter-Board Committee Islamabad, for recognition of qualification as equivalent to FSc. (Pre-medical).

  5. Recent passport size coloured photographs with blue background – 12 copies

  6. Copy of Computerized National Identity Card (NIC) of Both Applicant & Parent (Guardian)

No application for admission will be considered unless completely made out on the prescribed form by the candidate in his/her own hand writing. If any of the above certificates/documents are found to be false or forged, legal action will be taken against the student and his/her admission will be cancelled.

Formula for evaluation of merit of the candidates holding qualification other than F.Sc. (Pre-Medical). of studies, migration or if a student discontinues his/her courses of studies. Application forms and photocopies of the documents of candidates who are not selected will not be returned. The admission fee and all other dues will not be refunded to the students whose admission is cancelled due to his/her fabricated false or fake documents or is rusticated / expelled/ removed from the college rollfor any reason or he/ she decides to discontinue his/her studies in the colleges of MIHS, Islamabad.

Initially, all admissions in MIHS will be provisional. Any candidate whose particulars, certificates or any other document submitted with the admission form are found incorrect or wrong in any way, or whose authentication is doubtful, will be struck off from the college roll, even if the candidate as been admitted. A student can be removed from the College by the Principal / Dean at any time during the course of his/ her study, if incorrect or wrong data has been submitted by such a candidate / parent/ guardian, at the time of admission. No show cause notice will be necessary for any action under this rule of admission of MIHS. The candidate who fails to report for interview / admission on the prescribed date shall be considered to have forfeited his /her chance of admission in MIHS.
