Total seats available for admissions at SMC are 100. Distribution of seats is as under: -
Regular 60 seats Full Payment 20 seats Foreign/Ex-Patriate Pakistani 20 seats
One (01) seat in Regular shall be reserved for disabled persons possessing disability certificate issued by the competent authority after vetting by SMC Disability Verification Committee. Eligibility Criteria: 1) Regular/Full Payment Seats:
The admissions shall be on regular/full payment seats to the individuals domiciled in the province of Punjab and shall be based on results of Entry Test conducted by Punjab Government in 2009. Irrespective of the gender, admissions shall be granted purely on merit as per the criteria laid down in this prospectus.

I) Applicants having domicile of Punjab Province shall be eligible to apply for admission in Sargodha Medical College, Sargodha.
ii) Applicants must have secured 715/1100 unadjusted marks in F.Sc.(Pre-medical) or equivalent examination (excluding the marks of Hafiz-e-Quran).
iii) Candidates who possess qualification equivalent to intermediate (Pre-Medical) in the subjects of Physics, Chemistry, Biology and English can apply for admission. The equivalence of qualification and calculation of marks of the candidates holding any other qualification than F.Sc (Pre-Medical) shall be determined by the Interboard Committee of Chairmen, Islamabad (IBCC) and the candidates will be required to produce the equivalence certificate alongwith the admission form.
iv) Candidates applying for admission on Regular and Full Payment are required to have qualified the Entry Test conducted by the Punjab Government with a minimum pass percentage of 40, otherwise they shall not be eligible for admission. The Entry Test 2009 shall be valid for this Session only. Dues for Full Payment seats will be Rs.250,000/- Per Annum along with regular College Dues.

2) Foreign/Ex-Patriate(Dual Nationality) Seats:
The interested candidates will apply through Higher Education Commission(HEC), Pakistan alongwith an Advance Copy on College Admission Form to the Principal, SMC. Only candidates nominated by the HEC Islamabad (as per criteria of PM&DC and UHS, Lahore will be entertained. Dues for Foreign seats will be US$ 8000 Per Annum along with normal College dues. All dues once deposited, will be non-refundable in any case. Procedure for submission of application:

I)The applicants are required to apply for admission on prescribed form to the Principal, Sargodha Medical College, Sargodha directly in case of Regular or Full Payment and indirectly through Higher Education Commission, Islamabad/Ministry of Economic Affairs, Govt. of Pakistan, Islamabad in case of Foreign/Ex-Patriate Pakistani (Dual Nationality) seats.
ii) The applicants desirous to avail the opportunity in different Categories at a time are required to submit Separate admission forms/applications for each category. iii) The merit list shall be prepared based on the availability of seats on Regular/Full Payment/Foreign seats according to the choice given by the applicants. The preference once given shall be treated as final.
Iv) One attested photocopy of each of the following documents (except affidavit) should be enclosed with the application form:-candidate found to have domicile of more than one place will be disqualified for admission in the college, even if caught at later stages

a)Matric or equivalent(Marks sheet + Certificate)
b)FSc or equivalent certificate(Marks sheet + Certificate)
c)Hafiz-e-Quran certificate (where applicable)
d)Character Certificate of the college/institute last attended.
e)Entry Test result-2009.
f)Domicile Certificate: Domicile certificate once submitted with the application cannot be changed and shall be considered as final. Any candidate found to have domicile of more than one place will be disqualified for admission in the college, even if caught at later stages.

v)Three recent photographs (passport size) of candidate, 02 attested on the back and one pasted on the application form attested from front side.
vi)The list of selected candidates shall be notified and displayed on the College Notice Boards & Website.
vii)Revision of result or improvement of marks by the board shall not affect the merit list in the current year in any way.
ix)All Original Certificates along with the Original Affidavit (appendix-1) on stamped paper of Rs.20/- duly attested by the Judicial Magistrate shall be produced by the candidate at the time of admission and/or interview.

Admission Process:
i) The admissions shall be made by the Admission Committee comprising the following:
A. Chairman, Admission Committee SMC.
B. Representative of the Vice-Chancellor.
C. Heads/Representative of Anatomy, Physiology, Biochemistry and Pathology department of the College.
D. One or more co-opted members from the staff of Sargodha Medical College nominated by the Principal as and when desired.
E. Assistant Registrar, Sargodha Medical College as Secretary Admission Committee.
(ii) The Admission Committee will be facilitated by other Committees e.g. Disability/Hafiz-e-Qurran Verification Committee etc.
(iii) Decision of the Admission Committee in respect of admission/selection of the candidates will be final. Merit List:
(i)  The merit list of candidates will be prepared by the Admission Committee, verified by the Principal, Sargodha Medical College. The Vice-Chancellor shall be competent to rectify the errors or omissions found in the merit list /selection list at the time of selection of candidates.
(ii) The Admission Committee shall determine the admissions as per the merit exhibited by the applicant.
(iii)Candidates applying for admission, shall be considered for selection according to the Priority opted by them in Admission Form and merit.
(iv)Foreign/Ex-patriate/Dual National seats will be filled as per selection by the Higher Education Commission Islamabad, Pakistan.
(v) Postal application should be addressed to “the Principal Sargodha Medical College”, University of Sargodha, Sargodha. These applications should reach the college office well before the closing date. Any deficiencies will not be reported to the candidate and the responsibility of completeness as per prospectus lies with the candidate.            If considered necessary, the Admission Committee may call any candidate for interview at his/her own expenses.
The Admission Committee may refuse admission to any candidate who seems, for reasons to be recorded in each case at the time of interview, to be
unsuitable or unlikely to become a good doctor. In case such a candidate is admitted, he can be struck off the rolls of the college, after issuing a notice
to him/her to that effect.
Such candidates whose particulars e.g. Marks certificates or any other document submitted with the application form are found to be incorrect or wrong or whose authentication is doubtful will be strucked off from the College roll, even if they have been admitted. A student can be removed during the course of his/her study at any stage if incorrect or wrong information has been submitted by such a student, which formed the basis of his/her admission. The Principal can forfeit fee and other dues paid by such a candidate.
In addition a candidate making any false statement is liable to any legal action, which the College may deem fit to take. Similarly father/guardian making any false statement is also liable to legal action.
Any candidate detected to have submitted forged certificates or fake documents with the application form shall be permanently debarred from admission to Sargodha Medical College.
RULES FOR WORKING OUT MERIT OF CANDIDATES
Being a Hafiz-e Qurran, Twenty (20) marks will be added to F.Sc. Marks, subject to verification of the same by a sub-committee constituted by the Admission Committee. Note:- According to the aggregate marks of F.Sc. and Entry Test, whenever two or more than two candidates are bracketed, the one senior in age will be given preference to the other for the purpose of admission. Any appeal with reference to merit list should reach the Principal, SMC within 05 days of display of the merit list. FINAL MERIT LIST
The final merit list will be determined as per the following criteria: -
Adjusted marks in F.Sc. / equivalent examination …..70%
Entry Test marks………………………………………… ..30% MEDICAL FITNESS REQUIREMENTS
The candidates shall be examined at the time of admission by a Medical Officer appointed by the University. The candidate must be physically and mentally fit and should bring original medical certificate issued by any registered medical practitioner stating general well being at the time of admission. While in medical college, hospital, the students are exposed to various germs, therefore, the candidates are required to have the following vaccinations prior to admission:
I) Inoculated against the enteric fevers within the preceding 12 months.
II) Fully vaccinated against Tetanus.
III) Fully vaccinated against Hepatitis “B” virus.
IV) X-Ray of any part of the body, or any other investigation if required shall be at the candidate’s expense. 16. Admission Regulations
(i) No student will be considered to have been admitted to Sargodha Medical College unless he/she has paid the college fee & other dues.
(ii) A student, who is admitted to the first year of MBBS class because of his/her having paid the college fee etc., but continuously absents himself/herself for a period of two weeks without any genuine reason, his/her admission will be cancelled and the seat may be filled by the Principal on the basis of merit as per rules.
iii) If a seat falls vacant, the next candidate in that category shall be offered admission on merit. Admission will be closed as per the advertisement of the University. However, if any vacancy occurs as a result of a candidate having been struck off the college rolls on account of securing admission by fraudulent means, it will be filled in to safeguard the right of the next person on merit up to the end of the first year class. However he/she shall not be permitted to appear in the Annual Examination till he/she has attended at least 75 percent lectures/ practical classes and has shown over all good performance in tests during the year.
(iv) The Admission Committee shall verify all certificates submitted by the candidates as early as possible from the concerned Board/University/Authority. The students whose certificates/documents are found incorrect or wrong in any way shall not be considered for admission and if admitted provisionally their admission will be cancelled without any notice. The candidates will have to pay the actual amount as documents verification fee.
(v) There will be no refund of fee in any case whether on Regular/Full Payment or Foreign/Ex-Patriate Seat.
Vi) If a candidate admitted at Sargodha Medical College, intends to Cancel his/her admission on his own request, the dues deposited by him/her will not be refunded at any stage and no claim in this regard will be entertained.
17. Dispute Regarding Admission
All disputes related to admission process shall be managed by the Admission Committee after reception of complaints from the actual affectees only. The matter if not resolved by the Admission Committee, be referred to the Principal Sargodha Medical College/Vice-Chancellor. Legal suit if any will only be applicable in local court of Sargodha and not at any where else place. If the candidates/parents/guardians are satisfied with all the above instruction then they are encouraged to apply for admission and such shall be welcomed.
