RBISE SSC exam results 2010 : Boys positions

Boys clinch top two positions in SSC exam
Rawalpindi, Aug 05: Boys bagged two of the three top positions in the Secondary School Certificate (SSC) Part-II annual examination 2010 held under the Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education Rawalpindi.

According to the results declared on Wednesday, a total of 113,352 students had appeared in the exam out of whom 66,558 (58.73 per cent) were declared pass.

The pass percentage was 61.69 in the 2009 annual exam; 53.86 in 2008 and 48.12 in 2007. As many as 33,380 girls out of the 50,172 passed the exam with the ratio of 66.54 per cent while among boys, the pass percentage remained 52.53 as 33,178 candidates out a total of 63168 were declared pass.

Jawad Hussain of Radiant Secondary School stood first by obtaining 1,016 marks out of 1,050, Mehar Khan of Asif Public School second with 1,015 marks and Muneebur Rehman Abbasi also of Radiant School remained third with 1,010 marks.

As many as 65,536 regular students appeared in the exam and 50,502 of them (77.27 per cent) got through. On the other hand, out of the 47,816 private students, only 16,056 (33.59 per cent) could pass the exam.

In the general group among girls, Tasmina Sharif of Government Girls High School Saeela, Jhelum, bagged the first position with 938 marks, Salma Khatab Gul of Government Pakistan Islamia Girls High School No 3 Jehangirabad, Rawalpindi, clinched the second position by obtaining 932 marks while the third position was bagged by Linta Irfan of Government Pakistan Girls High School, Jamia Masjid Road, Rawalpindi, with 929 marks.

In this group among boys, Zeeshan Gul, a private student from Talagang, remained first with 878 marks, Imran Khan of Government High School Jhelum second with 870 marks while the third position was shared by Saad Arshad Qadir, a private candidate, and Habibullah of Darul Ulum Rehmania Rizwia, Sohawa Jhelum, with 868 marks each.

In the general science group, among girls, Mehar Khan obtained first position, Syeda Anmol Riaz of Asif Public School with 1,007 marks remained second and Zobia Rehman of Siddeeq Public School, Rawalpindi, stood third with 999 marks. In the same group among boys, Jawad Hussain and Munnedur Rehman Abbasi stood first and second respectively and Shaman Tahir of Military College Jhelum with 1,006 marks remained third.

This year, the BISE awarded prizes to three students who secured the first three positions among 79 special candidates.

They are Raima Raza (930 marks), Khansa Babar (914 marks) and Ambreen Bibi (910 marks) of Sir Syed Academy for Girls Special Education, Mohammad Hussain Road, Rawalpindi.
