US envoy appreciates SKMCH’s services for cancer patients

LAHORE; Thursday, October 06, 2011: US Ambassador Cameron Munter, along with his wife Dr Marlin White, visited the Shaukat Khanum Memorial Cancer Hospital and Research Centre (SKMCH&RC) on Wednesday.

Shaukat Khanum Hospital CEO Dr Faisal Sultan welcomed the honourable guests. Dr Faisal highlighted the performance of the hospital through a presentation and also shared the future plans of the hospital with the guests.

The US ambassador took a round of different departments of the hospital. The couple thanked the hospital management for providing them with the opportunity of visiting the wonderful institution. Munter appreciated the state-of-the-art facilities and services being provided to cancer patients at the hospital. He said that the hospital was well and truly serving the greater humanitarian cause. “I am glad that SKMCH&RC is working in research and other medical fields in collaboration with international institutions and I am of the view that the hospital should extend its collaboration with other health care institutions, especially in the US”, he added. Munter said that the US government would be happy to provide any kind of assistance in this regard. Meanwhile, Munter and his wife also distributed gifts among the cancer patients.
