A. Examinations of all courses will be held as announced by LUMHS.
B. Examinations of FCPS &Â DCPS will be held as announced by CPSP.
C. Diploma examinations of LUMHS: Students will have to attend a minimum of 75% of lectures, demonstrations and practicals, failing which they will not be allowed to appear in the examination. In such cases they may be permitted to appear in the next examination provided they make up the deficiency by attending the next course as full time student. A student, who, though qualifying for the examination, does not appear in the examination; may be permitted to appear at any subsequent examinations as an ex-student with in a period of three years of qualifying for such an examinati9n. Thereafter, such a student shall have to seek fresh admission in the course.
D. The theory examination shall be conducted at the centre. as specified by the LUMHS/CPSP.
The theory examinations of various courses shall consists of:
Paper I: Basic Science (Anatomy, Physiology & Pathology)
Paper II: Gynecology
Paper III: Obstetrics
There shall be no practical examination in Basic Science.
Paper I: General Paediatrics
Paper II:Community Paediatrics
Paper I Histopathology & Microbiology
Paper II: Haematology & Chemical Pathology
Paper I: Anatomy, Embryology, Physiology & Optics
Paper II: Ophthalmic Surgery & Related Pathology
Paper III: Ophthalmic Medicine & Related Therapeutics

Examinations for M.S/M.D:
a. Eligibility for Final Examinations:
I. Student will have to attend a minimum of 75% of lectures, demonstrations and practiasl, failing which they will not be allowed to appear in the examination; in the later case he/she may be permitted to appear in the next examination provided that they make up the deficiency be attending the next course as full time students.
II. Submission of duly signed complete Log book.
III. Approved thesis.
IV. The candidate must have completed prescribed training period in the concerned specialty.
V. A student, who though qualifying for the examination, does not appear in the examination, may be permitted to appear at any subsequent examinations as an ex-student, within a period of three years of qualifying for such an examination. Thereafter, such a student shall have to seek fresh admission in the course.
Method of Examination for M.S/M.D:
I. The M.S/M.D candidates will be eligible to appear in Basic Sciences either with the final examination or any time after completing six months period after admission. The Basic Science Paper will be MCQ type with negative marking and will carry 100 marks, There will be no practicals & viva-voce in Basic Science.
II. In M.S/M.D there will be three papers on clinical subjects of Essay type questions, each carrying 100 marks. The candidates will be allowed to appear in these papers after the approval of thesis.
III. Students will be allowed to appear in viva/practicals if they secure at least 60% marks in each theory paper. The oral & clinical practical part of the examination will be held in the concerned department of the medical college and will consist of:
One long case : 1 00 marks
Minimum of 3 short cases: 1 00 marks
Viva-voce : 100 marks
IV. OSCE / TOACS may be employed as a component of Examinations.
V. There shall be at least Six (6) examiners / paper setters from the relevant field. But Supervisor / Guide shall not be an examiner.
VI. In case the number of examiners fall short of the above stated number at the time of practical examination, the examinations shall be put off to some other date.
VII. A student shall be considered successful in the examination if he/she secures 60% marks in oral & practical/ clinical parts.
